The Safety and Buildings Division protects the health, safety and welfare of people in constructed environments in Wisconsin. The division
develops, administers, and enforces state laws and rules relating to building construction, and safety and health.
The International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention,
develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, states and counties that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by the International Code Council.

The League of Wisconsin Municipalities is a voluntary nonprofit and nonpartisan association of cities and villages working to advance municipal government. Established in 1898, the League acts as an information clearinghouse, lobbying organization and legal resource for Wisconsin municipalities.
